For all of you who have experienced “cupping,” you should know that myofascial decompression is the Physical Therapist’s term for this ancient practice in energy release. From a western perspective, this suctioning has the ability to break adhesions and allow for deeper penetration of the connective tissues and deeper structures in less time than it would take for me to use my elbow or foot.

Lucky for you, yesterday I attended a workshop at UCSF in which I discovered the complexities of this technique from a Physical Therapist’s perspective! I will therefore be incorporating myofascial decompression into my massage sessions for those of you who make the request.

See you soon,

Be well!
